Executive Employment Package Review
A connected review of compensation, benefits, contract mechanics and negotiation priorities before you accept a German executive role.
Who this review is for
The engagement is designed for directors, managing directors and senior specialists who have received a substantive offer governed by German employment terms. It is especially useful when the package combines annual bonus, long-term incentives, pension, mobility, severance or restrictive covenants.
What we examine
We read the offer letter, draft employment agreement and available plan summaries as a connected whole. The review covers fixed salary, target bonus definition, payment timing, discretion clauses, sign-on and retention payments, share or virtual-share conditions, company pension, car and mobility arrangements, holiday, probation, notice, garden leave, change-of-control wording, confidentiality and post-contract restrictions.
You receive:
- a private 75-minute intake call;
- a structured package map showing confirmed terms, ambiguities and dependencies;
- a written priority brief distinguishing commercial questions from matters requiring legal or tax advice;
- one 60-minute findings call; and
- one round of clarification by email within seven days.
We do not represent you in litigation, provide tax calculations, issue a German legal opinion or negotiate directly with the employer. When a clause needs a Rechtsanwalt, Steuerberater or pension specialist, we say so plainly.
How the engagement runs
After a scope check, we provide secure transfer instructions and request the role description, draft contract, compensation schedule and relevant plan rules. We agree the documents and fee before work begins. Most reviews take seven to ten German business days after the complete file is received. A shorter timetable depends on availability and document length.
Preparing well
Note your signing deadline, current notice obligations, expected start date, relocation plans and the two outcomes that matter most to you. Redact unrelated personal identifiers where practical. Documents may be in German or English; findings are delivered in English.
The result
The aim is not to create a longer wish list. It is to identify which terms materially affect the role, which points can be clarified without friction and which trade-offs belong in the final negotiation. Request a scope check before sending confidential documents.
